NEW School Project: Sembabule District, Uganda

Wonder what we’ve been up to lately? Starting a new construction project for a new secondary school in Lwemiyaga, Sembabule District, Uganda! The government of Uganda undertook in 1993 to reform its primary education system, and succeeded in tripling primary school attendance, by 1999, over 1986 levels (from 2 million to 6 million). This has created the need for additional secondary school capacity that has not been fully addressed. This new project will establish a new secondary school for 240 day-students (no boarding) in a one-phase, one-year project. The Saint Nektarios Education Fund has awarded a $120,000 grant to its network partner IOCC for this project.
