Ann Winjiku is one of 430 students to receive a scholarship from the St. Nektarios Education Fund, which has provided support to students in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Romania. Students like Ann are selected based on financial need. Since 2002, annual scholarships have been awarded to cover school tuition for one year. The average size of an annual scholarship is $150 and are awarded to students from pre-school through graduate school.
In addition the St. Nektarios Education Fund has provided several operating grants to existing schools. These micro grants of $1500 to $5000 support the operating expenses of schools in impoverished areas allowing them to educate more children.
